TREE PLANTATION WEEK OBSERVED AT SHEMFORD, PINJORE

A week long tree plantation drive was held at Shemford Futuristic School, Pinjore beginning
from July, 15. With an initiative taken by the teachers and students of the Eco Club of the school,
it was an endeavour to sensitize the young Shemstars towards the need to save the environment.
With the increasing levels of air pollution, it becomes all the more important to make the
children aware that trees provide the most crucial element for existence- oxygen.

The Management of Shemford has taken the initiative to start the nutrition garden in the school
premises. The Shemstars of Primary grades onwards planted various saplings of different fruit
and vegetable plants. It was a treat to the eyes to see the tiny Shemstars of the Pre Primary Wing
learning to plant saplings in small flower pots in the school premises. Their eagerness to plant
one at home as well, was indeed a promising ray of hope.

The students of the Eco Club also raised slogans in the entire campus of the school to emphasize
the need to save the environment, to grow more trees and keep the air pollution free, which is the
responsibility of each and every citizen of the globe. The management, Principal and staff also
planted new saplings in the sprawling campus of 10 acres. Principal, Ms. Amita Dhaka, guided
the children not to destroy the greenery and to save the scenery, to Save Mother Earth.
